Ba de Ya - Dancing in September

As the official Let's Go in the Wrong Direction for Awhile Navigator, I think I did a pretty good job of showing the girls the scenic route in Richmond . . . Yup . . . I need to talk to the committee that decided to name their street with numbers (Number 2 Road, Number 3 Road, etc.) instead of real names . . .

This trip was so fun, we have to make it an annual event! One of the many hilarious highlights was on the way home when everyone was calling loved ones to see what Customs regulations said about bringing in siopao, and then we had to look deep into hearts to figure out how we would answer the border officers. Well, mostly we made Kat look into her heart because she would be answering the questions! (Thanks for driving!)

The Designated Driver

So I happened to be the designated driver during our weekend in Vancouver B.C. Boy was it an adventure...but it was an awesome adventure nonetheless. We shopped on Robson St., spent the afternoon at Stanley Park and had delicious Dim Sum in China Town at some sketchy, abandoned restaurant. Finding these places was an adventure all their own. My navigators did a marvelous job...we eventually arrived at our destinations (in one piece, I might add...) thanks to all of our hard work (and good driving!). Maps are really a wonderful thing since it is hard to trust verbal directions. Hence the name Lumbertree. Stay posted for the whole story!!

The Team

Prologue

On a late-August weekend we were starving. We were so famished that we sunk to the level of eating the only edible substances in our proximity (beside each other)... fried corn and garlic. Disgusting, but true. Unsatisfied, with our voracious appetites we pursued our ultimate craving: SUSHI. Our sushi was far, far away. At some place that can never be found, a place that everyone believes in but nobody will ever see, like The North Pole or Middle Earth or Krypton or Taste of India on Roosevelt. And that place is Lumbertree Road.
